From emergency repairs to full system replacements, Tru Blu Plumbing handles every type of hot water system across Sydney. Our licensed plumbers and gas fitters install, service and replace all major brands with upfront pricing and warranty-backed workmanship.
Storage Tank Hot Water Systems
Storage tank systems are the most common hot water setup in Australian homes, holding heated water in an insulated cylinder ready for use. We install and repair electric and gas storage tanks from 125L to 400L+, sizing the tank to match your household size and peak usage. Common repairs include element and thermostat replacement, anode rod swaps, pressure relief valve changes and tank leak diagnosis. If your storage tank is over 10 years old, we can assess whether a repair or full replacement is more cost-effective.
Continuous Flow (Instantaneous) Hot Water
Continuous flow systems heat water on demand without storing it, delivering endless hot water while using less energy. They're compact, wall-mounted and ideal for homes with limited space or large families that need hot water that never runs out. We install and service Rinnai, Rheem, Thermann and Bosch continuous flow units. Common repairs include pilot light issues, burner flame failure, gas valve faults, temperature fluctuation and low water flow. We also handle gas pipework upgrades when switching from a storage tank to continuous flow.
Heat Pump Hot Water Systems
Heat pumps are the most energy-efficient electric hot water option, extracting heat from the air to warm your water using up to 70% less electricity than a standard electric tank. We install, service and repair heat pump systems from Stiebel Eltron, Thermann, Rheem and Chromagen. Heat pumps qualify for government rebates in NSW, and we help you navigate the rebate application process. Common service calls include compressor faults, refrigerant top-ups, fan motor replacement and thermostat calibration.
Gas Hot Water Systems
Gas hot water systems — both storage and continuous flow — are popular for their fast recovery rates and lower running costs. As licensed gas fitters (NSW Lic 500177C), we handle gas hot water installation, repairs, gas line upgrades and compliance certificates. We service Rinnai, Rheem, Everhot, Thermann and Bosch gas units. Common repairs include pilot light relighting, thermocouple replacement, gas valve repairs, burner cleaning and carbon monoxide testing to ensure safe operation.
Electric Hot Water Systems
Electric storage hot water systems are affordable and reliable, available in a range of sizes to suit any home. We repair and replace electric tanks from Dux, Rheem, Aquamax, Everhot and Chromagen. The most common electric hot water repairs are heating element failure, thermostat faults, pressure relief valve leaks and tank corrosion. We also handle off-peak electric tank conversions and tempering valve installations to meet NSW 50°C maximum delivery temperature regulations.
Hot Water Repairs
When your hot water stops working, our licensed plumbers carry common spare parts on every van so most repairs are completed on the first visit. We diagnose and fix no hot water, intermittent heating, water leaks, strange noises, rusty water, low pressure and pilot light faults. Every repair is quoted upfront before we start — no hourly rates and no hidden fees. Same-day service is available across Sydney, seven days a week.
Hot Water System Replacement
If your hot water system is beyond repair or over 10–12 years old, we provide full replacement services with same-day installation in most cases. We help you choose the right system based on household size, energy source, running costs and available rebates. Every replacement includes removal and disposal of your old unit, installation of the new system, compliance certificates, tempering valve setup and full system testing. All replacements are backed by manufacturer warranty plus our own workmanship guarantee.
